Hardin County Real Estate

Comfortable is a word that comes to mind when describing life in Hardin County. It’s a comfortable place to live because of what we have, and because of what we don’t have.
What we have is a county large enough to support the amenities needed for a pleasant lifestyle. It begins with good jobs. There are jobs in the financial sector with national companies like iPay Technologies; manufacturing jobs with leading companies in the automotive industry; healthcare careers centered around Hardin Memorial Health, a regional hospital and medical services provider; a strong agricultural presence with some of Kentucky’s finest farmland; and of course, one of our country’s most important military facilities, Fort Knox.
What we have is a strong emphasis on education. This includes elementary and secondary schools that have received national awards for quality, outstanding private and parochial schools, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, and the Hardin County campus of Western Kentucky University.
We have the Elizabethtown Sports Park, a world-class facility for young athletes; a wide array of the nationally known stores where you like to shop and the restaurants where you like to eat; and most importantly, safe neighborhoods where you can enjoy a pleasant walk after work.
What we don’t have are the things you will be glad to leave behind. High crime rates, frustrating traffic tie-ups, excessive noise and congestion are certainly not things associated with Hardin County life.
The Hardin County population is over 108,000, which makes it the fifth largest county in Kentucky. Housing prices are affordable and tax rates and much lower than those found in many metro areas. Simply stated, Hardin County is a place where you can fit in and enjoy life.
